How To Make Turnip Tartiflette

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized turnips, peeled and sliced
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 200g smoked bacon, diced
  • 200g Reblochon cheese, sliced
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. In a large pan, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.

  3. In the same pan, sauté the onions and garlic until translucent.

  4. Add the turnips and potatoes to the pan and cook for a few minutes until lightly browned.

  5. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. In a baking dish, layer half of the turnip-potato mixture, followed by half of the bacon and half of the cheese slices.

  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.

  8. Pour the heavy cream over the top of the dish.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the turnips and potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.

  10. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
