Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 8 hot dogs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vegetable oil.

  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  5. Fold in the hot dog pieces and cheddar cheese.

  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.

  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
