How To Make NYC-style hot dogs with street-cart onions

Ingredients
- 4 hot dog buns
- 4 beef hot dogs
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: sauerkraut, relish, chopped jalapenos
Instructions

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

While the onions are cooking, grill the hot dogs on a hot grill or cook them in a skillet until heated through and slightly charred.

Toast the hot dog buns on the grill or in a toaster.
