  • 4 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour into a 9-inch baking dish.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, walnuts, and melted butter. Mix well.

  4. Pour the oat mixture over the apples and spread evenly.

  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

  6. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
