- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Purple food coloring (as desired)
- For the Blackberry Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh blackberries
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Add purple food coloring until the desired shade is reached.
