How To Make Easy Banoffee Pie
A delicious and simple banoffee pie recipe made with ripe bananas, caramel sauce, and a buttery graham cracker crust.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Chocolate shavings (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
-
In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish, evenly covering the bottom and sides. Place in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set.
-
In a medium saucepan, place the unopened can of sweetened condensed milk. Fill the saucepan with water, covering the can completely. Bring the water to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 2 hours, making sure the can is always submerged in water. Remove from heat and let the can cool completely before opening.
-
Once the crust is set and the condensed milk has cooled, spread the caramelized condensed milk (dulce de leche) evenly over the crust.
-
Arrange the sliced bananas over the caramel layer.
-
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
-
Spread the whipped cream over the banana layer, covering the entire pie.
-
Garnish with chocolate shavings, if desired.
-
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
