Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Using a pastry blender or your fingers, cut in the cold butter until the mixture is pea-sized.

  4. Add the buttermilk and stir until just combined.

  5. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped fresh chives.

  6. Using an ice cream scoop or spoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.

  8. Serve warm.
