How To Make Breakfast Sausage and Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.

  5. Add the milk to the bowl and stir until a dough forms.

  6. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times until it comes together.

  7. Roll out the dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into biscuits using a round cutter.

  8. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  9. Top each biscuit with a spoonful of cooked breakfast sausage.

  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.

  11. Serve hot.
