Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 8 cups dry bread cubes
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  3. Add onions and celery, sauté until soft.

  4. Stir in thyme, sage, rosemary, salt and pepper.

  5. Add bread cubes to the skillet, stir until well coated with the butter mixture.

  6. Pour chicken broth over the bread cubes, stirring occasionally, for about 5-10 minutes until the bread is moistened.

  7. Transfer the bread mixture to a baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top.
