Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, cornstarch, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well until the strawberries are coated.

  3. Place the strawberry mixture into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.

  4. Cover the pie with the remaining pie crust, crimping the edges to seal.

  5. Cut a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape during baking.

  6. Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and bake for 35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

  7. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving.

  8. Serve the strawberry pie with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
