Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 4 sausages, casings removed
- 2 leeks, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage meat and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
-
Add the leeks, garlic, dried thyme, salt, and pepper to the pan. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, until the leeks are softened.
-
Pour in the chicken broth and simmer for 10 minutes, until the liquid has reduced slightly.
-
Roll out the puff pastry and line a pie dish with it. Trim off any excess pastry.
-
Spoon the sausage and leek mixture into the pastry-lined dish.
-
Cover the pie with another sheet of puff pastry, trimming and crimping the edges to seal.
-
Cut a few slits on the top of the pie to allow steam to escape.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, until the pastry is golden and crisp.
-
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
