- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for brushing the pastries)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.

Add the chopped heart of palm to the pan and cook for a few minutes, until heated through.
-
Season with paprika, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let it cool.
-
Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut them into squares or circles, about 5 inches in size.
-
Place a spoonful of the heart of palm mixture in the center of each pastry square.
-
Fold the pastry over the filling, forming a triangle or half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal.
-
Brush the pastries with the beaten egg to give them a golden crust.
-
Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
-
Serve hot and enjoy!
