How To Make Baked Date Balls
Made with shredded coconut and chopped walnuts, these date balls make chewy and chunky baked treats in under an hour for quick holiday desserts.

Ingredients
- 1cupdates,pitted, chopped
- 1tspwater
- 1cupwalnuts,chopped
- 2egg white
- 1cupbrown sugar,packed
- 1tbspbutter
- 1cupcoconut,shredded
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease the cookie sheets.

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the butter, water, and dates. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat, and let stand for 10 minutes.

Pour the date mixture into a medium bowl. Mix in the brown sugar and chopped nuts.

Whip egg whites in a small bowl until stiff. Fold the egg whites into the date mixture.

Roll the dough into 2-inch balls and roll in shredded coconut. Place on cookie sheets about 2-inches apart.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Let cool on wire racks.
