Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, ground walnuts, baking powder and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and oil until well combined.

  4. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

  5. Beat egg whites with a mixer until stiff peaks form, then fold into the batter a little at a time.

  6. Pour batter into a greased and floured 8 inch cake pan and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. Remove from oven and let cool.
