How To Make Dunkin Donuts Old Fashioned Donut Recipe

Delicious homemade version of Dunkin Donuts’ classic Old Fashioned Donut.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.

  3. Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.

  4. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 375°F.

  5. Using a doughnut cutter or two round cookie cutters, cut circles out of the dough. Cut holes in the center of each doughnut.

  6. Fry the doughnuts in the hot oil, in batches, turning occasionally until browned on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to drain.

  8. Optional: dust with powdered sugar before serving.
