How To Make Stroganoff Steaks
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 steak fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
-
Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
-
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add the onions and garlic. Cook until onions are soft and translucent.
-
Add the mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the beef broth, sour cream, flour, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour this mixture into the skillet and stir well.
-
Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
-
Return the steaks to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
-
Serve the stroganoff steaks over cooked egg noodles, garnished with fresh parsley.
