How To Make No Sour Cream Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Egg noodles or rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.

  2. Add beef slices to the skillet, cooking until browned on all sides. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture.

  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well to coat. Cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.

  5. Slowly add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard to the skillet, whisking continuously to prevent lumps.

  6. Return the beef to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.

  7. Stir in Greek yogurt and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  8. Serve the beef stroganoff over egg noodles or rice, garnished with fresh parsley.
