How To Make Spicy Microwave Popcorn

  • 4 cups popcorn kernels
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste


  1. Place the popcorn kernels in a microwave-safe bowl.

  2. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the kernels and toss to coat.

  3. Sprinkle the chili powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt over the kernels.

  4. Cover the bowl with a microwave-safe plate or microwave-safe plastic wrap.

  5. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes or until the popping slows down to around 2 seconds between pops.

  6. Remove from the microwave and carefully uncover to release steam.

  7. Mix well to evenly distribute the spices.

  8. Allow the popcorn to cool slightly before serving.
