  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and turns a golden brown color.

  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully add the heavy cream, butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well combined.

  3. Return the saucepan to low heat and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped pecans.

  5. Let the caramel sauce cool for a few minutes before serving.
