How To Make Smoked Sausage and Pinto Bean Chili Recipe

A comforting and hearty chili with smoked sausage and pinto beans.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (14 oz)
  • 1 can pinto beans, drained and rinsed (15 oz)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or dutch oven, cook sliced sausage until browned. Remove and set aside.

  2. In the same pot, cook onion and garlic until softened.

  3. Add in crushed tomatoes, pinto beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, and browned sausage. Stir to combine.

  4. Simmer for 30-40 minutes until flavors have melded together.

  5. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve with desired toppings.
