How To Make Smoked Sausage and Pasta Bake

A hearty and flavorful combination of smoked sausage and pasta in a creamy tomato sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 12 oz of pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 14 oz of smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 14 oz of diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp of dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp of dried basil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  3. In a large skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened.

  4. Add diced tomatoes, heavy cream, oregano, and basil. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir everything together.

  7. Transfer the pasta mixture to a baking dish. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Serve hot.
