How To Make Ground Sausage and Cheese Quesadillas

A delicious Mexican-inspired dish filled with flavorful ground sausage and melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced green pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook ground sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Add onion, green pepper, and red pepper and continue cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes.

  2. Add garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet and stir to combine.

  3. Lay one flour tortilla on a flat surface and sprinkle with 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.

  4. Spoon 1/4 of the sausage mixture on top of the cheese and fold the tortilla in half.

  5. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.

  6. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and place the folded tortilla in the pan.

  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  8. Cut into wedges and serve hot.
