Filled with the savory flavors from lentils, andouille sausages, and mushrooms, this lentil soup is cooked with chicken broth for a more hearty taste.

  • 6cupschicken broth
  • 3cupssplit lentils
  • 4andouille sausage links,cut into cubes
  • tspcumin,ground
  • 1tspchili powder
  • ½tspturmeric,ground
  • 10ozcremini mushrooms,(2 packages) coarsely chopped


  1. Combine the chicken broth, lentils, sausage, cumin, chili powder, and turmeric in a large pot.

  2. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until the lentils are tender.

  3. Stir the mushrooms into the broth mixture.

  4. Continue cooking for about 10 minutes more until the mushrooms are tender.
