Ingredients

  • 4 tuna steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until golden.

  4. Season the tuna steaks with salt, black pepper, and paprika on both sides.

  5. Push the onion and garlic to the side of the skillet and add the tuna steaks. Sear for 2 minutes on each side.

  6. Remove the tuna steaks from the skillet and set them aside.

  7. Add the diced tomatoes and cubed potatoes to the skillet. Stir well to combine.

  8. Place the skillet in the preheated oven and cook for 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  9. Remove from the oven and place the seared tuna steaks on top of the tomato and potato mixture.

  10. Return the skillet to the oven and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the tuna is cooked to your desired doneness.

  11. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
