How To Make Cola Pot Roast

Serve a filling dinner with this cola pot roast. It’s packed with seared beef, carrots, and potatoes slow-cooked in the sweet flavors of soda and mushroom.

  • 4lbsbeef chuck roast
  • 1tspkosher salt
  • ½tspcoarse ground black pepper
  • 3carrots,cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 2stalkscelery,chopped
  • 2russet potatoes,peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 1ozdry onion soup mix,(1 packet)
  • 10.75ozcondensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 12ozCoca-Cola soda


  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.

  2. Season the chuck roast with kosher salt and pepper.

  3. Add oil to a large pot on high heat and sear the beef for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side.

  4. Add the carrots, celery, and potatoes around the pot roast.

  5. In a medium bowl whisk together onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, and soda, then pour it over the chuck roast.

  6. Cover and cook for 3 to 3½ hours until tender.
