How To Make Pizza Buns

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

  2. Add the olive oil and warm water to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.

  7. Flatten each dough ball into a circle and spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on top.

  8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add pepperoni, bell peppers, black olives, and chopped basil leaves.

  9. Roll up each dough ball into a bun, sealing the edges.

  10. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  11. Remove from the oven and let the Pizza Buns cool for a few minutes before serving.
