How To Make Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pound of spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
- 1 can (28 ounces) of crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup of tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves, chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions

Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.

Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the chopped basil leaves and remove from heat.

Serve the Fra Diavolo sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
