How To Make Turkey Tortilla Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup salsa

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened.

  3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces with a spatula.

  4. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

  5. Line a 9-inch pie dish with one flour tortilla. Spoon 1/3 of the turkey mixture over the tortilla, spreading it evenly.

  6. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the turkey layer, then top with another tortilla. Repeat this layering process two more times.

  7. On top of the final tortilla layer, spread the salsa evenly.

  8. Cover the pie dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.

  9. Remove the foil and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the pie. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  10. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
