How To Make French Onion Chicken

Chicken breasts baked in a savory and creamy French onion broth that flavors it until the inside. Feel free to serve this over rice or with your favorite side dish.

  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 soup can milk
  • ¾ cup regular rice, uncooked
  • 1 sliced mushrooms, undrained (4 oz)
  • 1 cup onion soup mix
  • 4 chicken breast halves


  1. Blend soup and milk; reserve ½ cup of the mixture.

  2. Stir together remaining soup mixture, rice, mushrooms and half the onion soup mix.
  3. Pour into an 11-inch x 7-inch baking dish.

  4. Arrange chicken breasts on the rice mixture.
  5. Pour ½ cup reserved soup mixture over chicken and sprinkle with remaining onion soup mix.

  6. Cover and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees F.

  7. Uncover and bake another 15 minutes.
