How To Make Turkish Lamb Flatbread

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Turkish spice blend (cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, and cloves)
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 flatbreads
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is soft and translucent.

  2. Add the ground lamb to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Stir in the Turkish spice blend and season with salt to taste. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  4. In a small bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, chopped parsley, and chopped mint.

  5. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Place the flatbreads on the grill and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until warmed through and slightly charred.

  6. To assemble, spread a generous spoonful of the yogurt mixture onto each flatbread. Top with a portion of the lamb mixture and fold in half.

  7. Serve the Turkish lamb flatbreads with lemon wedges on the side.
