How To Make Middle Eastern Ground Lamb Flatbread
A savory Mediterranean-style flatbread topped with spiced ground lamb, herbs, tomatoes, and yogurt sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 flatbreads or naan
- 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F.
-
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground lamb and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
-
Stir in oregano, cumin, coriander, and salt and pepper to taste.
-
Place the flatbreads or naan on a baking sheet. Top with the spiced lamb, chopped tomatoes, parsley, mint, and red onion.
-
Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, until the bread is crispy and the lamb is heated through.
-
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
-
Serve the flatbreads hot, topped with the yogurt sauce.
