How To Make Anise Biscotti

A crunchy Italian biscuit with a subtle anise flavor perfect for dunking in coffee or tea.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp anise extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.

  4. Mix in vanilla extract and anise extract.

  5. Add the flour mixture to egg mixture and stir until well combined.

  6. Mix in the chopped almonds.

  7. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  8. Shape the dough into a log and place it onto the baking sheet.

  9. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly golden.

  10. Let the log cool for 5-10 minutes then slice it into individual biscotti.

  11. Place the biscotti back onto the baking sheet and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until crisp.

  12. Cool and store in an airtight container.
