How To Make Anise and Plum Galette

A delicious rustic tart with a sweet and tangy filling, flavored with anise.

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 3-4 plums, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp anise seeds
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Demerara sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. Roll out the pie crust into an 11-inch circle and transfer to a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. Combine the sliced plums, anise seeds, sugar, and flour in a bowl and mix until evenly coated.

  4. Arrange the plum mixture on top of the pie crust, leaving about 1 inch around the edges.

  5. Fold the edges of the pie crust over the plums, pleating it as you go.

  6. Brush the edges of the crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle Demerara sugar on top.

  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the crust is golden brown.

  8. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
