How To Make Twisted Spiced Bread with Honey & Tahini Butter

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the honey, warm water, and melted butter.

  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and knead until a smooth dough forms.

  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal portions.

  7. Roll each portion into a long rope and twist them together to form a braided bread.

  8. Place the twisted bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

  10. While the bread is baking, prepare the honey & tahini butter by mixing the tahini and powdered sugar in a bowl until well combined.

  11. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.

  12. Serve the twisted spiced bread warm with the honey & tahini butter.
