How To Make Salt and Pepper Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block of tofu, drained and cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, combine cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  2. Toss the tofu cubes in the cornstarch mixture until coated evenly.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Add the coated tofu cubes to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.

  5. Remove the tofu from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  6. Garnish with chopped green onions.

  7. Serve the salt and pepper tofu hot and enjoy!
