How To Make Roti

Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour and salt.

  2. Gradually add water and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  3. Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into balls.

  4. Roll out each ball into a thin circular shape using a rolling pin.

  5. Heat a tawa (griddle) or a non-stick pan over medium heat.

  6. Place the rolled roti on the hot tawa and cook it for about 30 seconds.

  7. Flip it and cook the other side until light golden brown spots appear.

  8. Remove from the tawa and brush with ghee or butter (optional).

  9. Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.

  10. Serve hot with your favorite curry or yogurt.
