Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup of warm water

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and vegetable oil. Mix well until the dough resembles breadcrumbs.

  2. Gradually add warm water, kneading until dough is smooth and elastic. Coat the dough with vegetable oil and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal parts and roll each into a ball. Flatten each ball with a rolling pin, then stretch it with your hands until it’s thin and almost transparent.

  4. Fold the dough in a triangular shape, then roll it again.

  5. Heat a pan over medium heat. Add a little bit of vegetable oil to the pan.

  6. Cook each roti for about 2 minutes each side until golden brown. Serve hot with your favourite curry or chutney.
