How To Make Spiced Fruit Loaf

A delicious and fragrant spiced fruit loaf packed with dried fruits, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp of ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp of ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • ½ cup of milk
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of mixed dried fruits (such as raisins, currants, and chopped apricots)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.

  3. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined.

  4. Fold in the dried fruits and mix until evenly distributed.

  5. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top using a spatula.

  6. Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. Allow the spiced fruit loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

  8. Serve the spiced fruit loaf as is or toasted with butter.
