- 1 pound elbow macaroni
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.

In a separate pot, melt butter over medium heat.

Whisk in flour and continue to whisk for 1-2 minutes until mixture is smooth and bubbly.

Gradually whisk in milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until mixture is smooth.

Remove sauce from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
