Photos of Amaretto Sour Cocktail Recipe
The amaretto sour is one of those classic amaretto cocktails that are absolutely perfect for happy hours. I heard this amaretto drink emerged in the cocktail scene during the 1970s. But its appeal is still all the rage to this day! Bright and refreshing with nutty hints, it is one of my favorite amaretto recipes. My friends and I love to mix up this sour cocktail whenever we get together. If you haven’t included this drink in your cocktail repertoire, you’re missing out A LOT!
I’m a HUGE fan of amaretto liqueur. Whenever I feel like it, I incorporate this Italian alcohol into my sidecar cocktail and even coffee! But right now, I’m swooning over this amaretto-based sour cocktail. Sour drinks usually require three elements: liquor, citrus, and sweetener. On top of the amaretto liqueur, you also need a dash of lemon juice and simple syrup to make this amaretto sour. Teamed up, they make one of the BEST drinks with amaretto every time. If you love the mix of tangy, sweet, and almond flavor, this amaretto cocktail will get you hooked, too!
Even better? There are endless ways to customize this boozy cocktail. And I must say, the amaretto sour recipe with sprite just hits differently! Adding bourbon whiskey also sends this drink over the top. You can even replace the lime juice with orange juice to make amaretto stone sour. And if you wanna see a smooth layer of foam at the top of your amaretto sour drink, just add egg white to the mix!
Wanna know how to make an amaretto sour? All you have to do is place all the amaretto sour ingredients in your cocktail shaker, shake, and garnish. Simple as 1-2-3! If you’re feeling fancy and happen to have a bottle of amaretto liqueur sitting on your bar cart, try making rounds of this sour cocktail. Cheers!
