Ingredients

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of water until they are fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the potatoes until they are smooth.

  3. Add the flour, bread crumbs, eggs, salt, and nutmeg to the mashed potatoes and mix until well combined.

  4. Divide the potato mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into round dumplings.

  5. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes, or until they float to the surface.

  6. Remove the dumplings from the water with a slotted spoon and serve hot as a side dish with your favorite main course.
