How To Make French Bread Rolls to Die For

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.

Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions.

Shape each portion into a roll by rolling it into a log shape.

Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Brush the rolls with the beaten egg.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
