How To Make Chinese Tofu and Sesame Ginger Sauce Recipe

A delicious vegan dish made with crispy tofu and a flavorful sesame ginger sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, cubed
  • 2 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • For the sauce:
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp of rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp of sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp of ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 1 tsp of sriracha
  • For the toppings:
  • 1 tbsp of sesame seeds
  • Sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the tofu cubes with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. Coat the tofu cubes with cornstarch, shaking off any excess.

  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.

  4. Add the tofu cubes and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

  5. In a small saucepan, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, water, and sriracha over low heat until thickened.

  6. Pour the sauce over the crispy tofu in the skillet and toss until fully coated.

  7. Serve the tofu hot, topped with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
