Chinese Tofu and Broccoli Stir-Fry Recipe

How To Make Chinese Tofu and Broccoli Stir-Fry

A vegan stir-fry with crispy tofu and tender broccoli coated in a savory, umami sauce.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1 head of broccoli, chopped into florets
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, and water. Set aside.

  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over high heat. Add tofu and cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and ginger. Saute for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. Add broccoli and saute for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.

  5. Add green onions and cooked tofu. Pour sauce over the mixture and stir until all ingredients are coated in the sauce.

  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until sauce has thickened.

  7. Serve hot with rice.
