Ingredients

  • 2 cups of sushi rice
  • 4 sheets of nori (dried seaweed)
  • 1 cucumber, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 carrot, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Soy sauce, for dipping
  • Wasabi and pickled ginger, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool.

  2. Place a sheet of nori on a sushi mat or a clean kitchen towel.

  3. Wet your hands with water to prevent sticking and take a handful of rice.

  4. Spread the rice evenly on the nori, leaving about an inch of space at the top.

  5. Place your desired fillings (cucumber, carrot, avocado) in a row in the middle of the rice.

  6. Using the sushi mat or towel, roll the sushi tightly, applying gentle pressure.

  7. Wet a sharp knife with water and slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces.

  8. Repeat steps 2-7 with the remaining ingredients.

  9. Serve the sushi with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
