How To Make Debra’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies are a classic favorite, with a crispy exterior and soft, gooey interior.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until well combined.

  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  5. Drop tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto a greased baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and just set.

  7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
