How To Make Chocolate Silk Pie Recipe

A silky smooth chocolate pie that melts in your mouth.

  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream, for topping


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Blind bake the pie crust according to the instructions.
  3. In a double boiler, melt the butter and chocolate chips.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and whisk until well combined.
  5. Slowly pour in the melted chocolate mixture, while whisking continuously, until the filling is smooth and silky.
  6. Pour the filling into the baked pie crust and smooth out the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the filling is set around the edges but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  8. Let the pie cool completely at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 2 hours.
  9. Serve cold with whipped cream on top.
