How To Make Scallion Pancakes

Scallion pancakes are great for a breakfast meal. You just need all-purpose flour, salt, water, dark sesame oil, and a lot of scallions.

Preparation: 50 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 1 hour 10 minutes



  • 2cupsall purpose flour,sifted
  • 1cupswater
  • 2tbspdark sesame oil
  • 15scallions
  • tspsalt
  • peanut oil,for frying


  1. Place the flour in a medium bowl and make a well in the center. Add the water and stir until a dough forms.

  2. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to low.

  3. Turn the pancake over and fry until browned on the second side

  4. Transfer to a paper towel–lined baking sheet and keep warm in the oven while frying the remaining pancakes.

  5. To serve, cut each pancake crosswise into quarters.
