How To Make My Mother-in-Law’s Plum Bread Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup fresh plums, pitted and chopped
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.

Gently fold in the chopped plums.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
