Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl, combine the grated cheddar cheese, all-purpose flour, softened butter, salt, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.

  3. Form the dough into a disc and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a 1/4-inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter to cut out desired shapes.

  5. Transfer the cut-outs to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

  6. Allow the cheese wafers to cool on a wire rack before serving.
